A stroll on Love Mountain

 Photos by Barry Wallace
Thursday was a treat this week in that I spent two hours walking in the Love Mountain Nature Reserve, which is located in the Happy Valley Forest, on the east side of King's 7th Concession where it jogs slightly at the 17th Sideroad.   It was the middle of the afternoon and I had the whole reserve to myself.   The nature reserve borders (on its south side) the Oak Ridges Trail, which traces the path of the now closed 17th Sideroad, between the 6th and 7th Concessions of King.   In fact, a part of the reserve trail intersects the Oak Ridges Trail, providing an additional access point to the reserve.   The reserve's trail is well marked and includes information boards at a few spots explaining the reserve's good fortune and genealogy.   I look forward to hiking here again throughout fall's glorious colours and showing more photos in this blogsite.
