Linda woke me early Saturday morning to announce the first hummingbird of the year was in the backyard. I've had the nectar feeders filled up for a few days in anticipation of the arrival of these springtime charmers. Last year the first 'hummer' showed up on May 6. They normally arrive between May 3 and 10. I have not got a photo of the 2016 one yet, but will have soon. In the meantime, I've included some shots from previous years as a preview.
