New King Township Municipal Centre

46,285 sq.ft. of multifunctionality awaits
results of Ontario Municipal Board hearing
An OMB hearing is to begin today, Tuesday, February 28, to consider an appeal to to the zoning bylaw amendment, 2016-81 filed by the Milani Group, a land developer with a land holding in King City.   The OMB has set aside four days for the hearing.   If the OMB issues a decision favourable to the township, of if the appellant withdraws its appeal, construction could begin in early spring 2017, with completion in the spring of 2018.   The 46,285 sq. ft. building is now designed to include a 2,000 sq.ft. council chamber with mezzanine and public lobby area, 6,100 sq. ft. for a gymnasium and related services, a 3,000 sq. ft. York Regional Police facility, and approximately 35,000 sq. ft. for municipal administration purposes.
